TITLES FOR COLONIALS.
(per press association.)
Dunedin, This Day.
The Star understands that in recognition of his services in introducing the penny postage system, and in connection with the all-British cable and other valuable services to the colony, the Hon. J. G. Ward is to be knighted, the Premier and. the rest of Mr Ward's colleagues heartily recommending tho conferiing of the distinction.
It is hoped that the Hon. J. M'Kenzie's land policy will not be lost sight of when the investiture of titles takes place, and that the claims of Mr Chisholm, the late Mayor of Dunedin, will not be altogether ignored.
