London, May 14. Lord Kitchener reports that General Grenfell has occupied the township of Louistrichart, which six British and 40 Boer surrenderees had held for use.
Fifty Boers with rifles were captured. Eight Boers with rifles were killed, twenty wounded, 132 captured, and a gun surrendered. 150 wagons and 870 horses were also captured. In the House of Commons, in reply to -questions, Lord Lansdowne stated that the commission appointed to inquire into the expulsion of foreigners from the Transvaal and Orange colonies would proceed to South Africa to hear evidence and recommend a reasonable assessment of the losses. The subjects of friendly Powers alone would be considered. Lord Stanley announced that it was not intended to increase the forces in South Africa.
