Steps arc being taken to induce farmers from the Eastern States io settle in Westralia. The wheat returns for the past season shows a considerable decrease in area, and average yield of 10.75 against 11.45 for the previous year.

The Eight-Mile Wheel Race resulted as follows Martin 1, Rolf 2, Gudgeon 3. Won by a length and a half. Time 4 21||. Martin also won the International Scratch Mile in 1 9 2-5.
