Arthur Balfour, addressing a meeting' of the Primrose League at Albert Hall, London, declared that the country was unwavering in its determination to bring the war to a .successful end. Benson's column has scoured the country from Middlclmrg in the direction of Rossenkal and Tousburg and has reached Belfast.
Ho had one stiff fight expelling the Boers who were concealed in caves. Five British were wounded including three officers.
Tremendous quantities of slock a?id supplies were captured and many surrendered in order to save their .slock. There are thousands of refugees at Middlcburg. Van Blazon, a farmer at Bardly East, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment, and fined £2,000 on charges of treason.

A hundred colonials after marching seventy-one miles in twenty-six hours occupied Wintcrbiirg Passes, blocking the escape of Schecper's commando to Hie south-cast.
Captain Hurcomho with twenty South Australians, scoured the country in South Commissie Drift, "and captured eight Boers some cattle and waggons. Afterwards liurcombe with four of his men were captured but released.
