THE RIVERS COMMISSION.
(Before H. A. Gordon, (chairman.) Flatman, M.H.R. and Murray, (Chief Commissioner of Lands.) The following additional- claims for consideration and compensation were submitted to the Commissioners yesterday afternoon:—
J. S. Stewart, H. Batty, and J. Coal Creek.
M. Lundberg and J. Moriarty. Stillwater.
T. E. and W. J. Coates. Blackwater.
W. R. Kettle and -A. R. Guinness, representing Grey Harbor Board. P. Qillin. Twelve Mile. J. Hoghen. Ngahere. J. Baybutt. Camptown. , W. Fairhall (sen.) Sawyer’s Creek. T. D. Kendell.—For Public Trustee on account of Native reserves along the river.
The evidence in the above oases was confined chiefly to the valuation of properties and the damage that had been done or likely to accrue through tko encroachment of the river.
The Commissioners spend the rest of week in visiting the various properties along the river, and will take evidence at Ahaura on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 8 and 9 th'.
