BULLER COAL NEWS.
Mr. Sidney Fry has been .appointed mine manager at the Westport Cooperative Mine, Mokihiuui, vice Mr. Gibson. Mr. Fry has had some considerable experience in mining and should capably fill the position. Some delay has been caused in working the Hutt seam on the Westport Co-oper-ative Company’s mine owing to a temporary disablement of the pump. Repairs have been effected and good work is now anticipated. Some at. the coal in sight is of good quality and should, when brought out of the mine, find a ready official authority to tbc opening Cardiff mine, but is dainKpectedL The people in the mity ofWt mine are a little impatient at the delayVand earnestly' hopa the Government will see its wa£, tp; give,, the necessary authority as early as 'possible in order that the work may bo taken in hand and the resources of the district developed.
