FOOTBALL.
Quidnune, writing to the Lyttelton Tiujc-s. says:—' I saw the Greymouth team play two games, and if its form is a sample of the West Coast Football, I am afraid they are not improving in those parts. Some four years back a Hokitika team visited here, and, granting it had a fair share of luck, returned homo undefeated, and it played three senior teams and the Ellesmero district. There were several players in that team quite up to senior form, but if I except O'Donnell, the Greymouth team's full back, on tha form shown, the present visiting team doe 3 not possess another player up to senior form. Skill and science can hardly be expected in West Coasters, owing to their isolation, hut certainly the team could have made up in willingness what it lacked in other directions. It is t.o bo regretted for the sake of the gitm?, that Canterbury is una'bld to sena a Team 10 Hi? Wes>i Coast, for I am sure a visit would give the game a groat lift, and undoubtedly improve (ho standard of play in ihe gold and coal district.
