MONTGOMERY'S TERRACE HYDRAULIC SLUICING COMPANY.

The following circular relative to the above company's ground situate at Blackball has been issqed : | " Owing to the necessity of enlarging the present races and equipping the claim so as to provide for the extra water from the new race, and Ihc Directors being of opinion that the employment of a permanent staff for the purpose of working the claim with thy present small and intermittent supply, greatly increases the cost of prnrlnction, have decided to stop sluicing operations until the new race is completed. Mr. John Hay, the well-known Kumara sluicer, has been appointed working manager,, and has now started the preliminary work. The vendors advise that their final wash-up for February produced 470z5., working three hours during the night with ten to twelve heads of water. "Mr. J. D. Gillies, the Company's engineer, has nearly completed the survey, and in his last report states that Jxe has permanently located the lin c of

race on the west side of Blackball Creek, which lie considers is without doubt the best and most economical route, and at the same time', from present appearances, is of opinion that the estimate will not be exceeded. After the survey is Completed, tenders will be at once called for the construction of the race, and it is needless to inform shareholders that it will be necessary to make regular calls with a view to meeting the liability for purchase of property and progress payments.

" .Should the estimate not be 1 exceeded, it will be unnecessary to call up the whole of the capital, and it is confidently expected that the claim will be in full working order within nine months."
