BRUNNER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The ordinary meeting of the above was held in the Council Chambers last evening. Present: the Mayor (chair), Crs Eobinson, Noble, Watson, Nyberg, Griffiths and O'Donnell. The outward coirespondence was read and approved of. Inward correspondence read and dealt with as follows: Letter from G. Owens asking for a share of the Borough work. It was resolved that he receive a share as applied for. Latter from J. Fitzpatrick asking that the front of his hotel be gravelled. It was resolved that the road only be gravelled in front of applicant's hotel. From Manager National Bank drawing attention to the new Municipal Corporation Act and asking that certain provisions be complied witb. Letter received and the Mayor and Cr. Noble instructed to see Manager re reduction of interest on overdraft and other matter. It was resolved on the motion of the Mayor tuat a wire be sont to the Minister of Public Works Wellington asking when ho intonds to spend the £3OO voted for repairing the Wallsond-Taylorville footbridgo, which was getting in a bad state. It was resolved that a wire be sent to the Postmaster-General, Wellingtons drawing his attention to the fact that money has been voted to build a new post office here and asking when the work was likely to be proceeded with. It was resolved that the Mayor be empowered to arrange with a suitable person to collect Dog and other taxes. It was resolved that the Engineer repair McLuskus Track if he considers it necessary. ' It was resolved that a list of all those paying rates be laid on the table. The Mayor and Cr O'Donnell was ay pointed to sign cheques. Accounts amounting to £75 4s lOd were passed for payment, and the Counc rose.
