Received this day, at 8 54 a m. London, April 19. In the House of Commons, Lord Cranhournc confirmed the report that Britain had sent letters to the Yangtze Viceroys congratulating thorn on their success in having the Manchuria agreement rejected. A falling beam killed Schwartzkoff, who was trying to rescue a dog. The lire was accidental.
Waldersce is suffering from the shock. Quantities of unique art treasures and costly presents to tire Kaiser were destroyed. The Chinese report that Twan Tungfuhsiang offered to acknowledge the suzerainty of Russia if helped to reconquer the northern provinces of China.
