A hundred acres of kelp at the Bay of Vancouver have been purchased as a landing site for the Pacific Cable. Concerning Religion. Archduke Francis assured the Clerical Society at Vienna that he sided with the unlitant Catholics, and attacked the Protestants. A Murder Ferdinand Crust, director of the Manchester Co., was murdered by Madame Englander at Paris, who then committed suicide. Steamer Collision Case. The Admiralty Division of the High Court of Justice, has given its decision in the Hineraoa-Pesthosilia collision. The Court blamed the Hinemoa, and decided that the Pesthesilia is entitled to damages. Shipping Collision Received this day, at 9 35 a m. Lotion, April 18. The first-class battleship Hood, fouled a French mail steamer at Malta, losing two boats. The ironclads Smart and Involution averted a worse disaster.
Received this day at 9 25 a. m. London, April 18. During the Confirmation of the election of Dr Ingram as Bishop of London in the church as St Mareyleborn, Kcnsit and others raised tumultuous and painful scenes as their protests against the election being overruled. Ingram was carried on shoulders by Ins admirers to St Pauls church-yard. The police protected Kensit from molestation.
