The Jockey Club's races commenced to-day with showery, threatening weather. The attendance is consequently poor, although there are a larger number of visitors than usual. Hurdles.—Eight Metal 1, Rhoderick Dim 2. These were the only two starters. Won easily. Time, 2 28; div., £1 7s and 12s.
