J. Giddings and G. "W. Smart were suspended for six and nine months respectively. The bankruptcy of James Chcetham was annulled. Opening of Federal Parliament. "Ward goes to Melbourne via South this evening to represent the Ministry at the opening of the Federal Parliament. Burglary. The "Wellington Railway station was burglariously entered last night and about JC'.lo cash stolen from the safe. The door was evidently opened with a skeleton and a safe key that had been kept on the premises used. Petone Borough.
Wellington, April 15. A poll of tho ratepayers of Pctono authorised.the Council to borrow £28,500 for water supply, £7OOO for streets and footpaths formation, £2500 for drainage extension and £2OOO for gasworks extension. Statue to the Queen. jJuxedin, April 15. To date £1302 has been collected for the memorial statue to Queen Victoria, estimated to cost £3OOO. Conciliation Board. Dcnkdin, April 15. Export of Poultry. Wellington, April 15. The Government p;u'try experts sates that an order recently received for poultry for export to Sauth Africa could not be fulfilled and says the demand for birds f ■:om Momohaki farm is greater than tho supply. Over a thousand fowls and ducks wcro ordered this season.
