DREDGING NOTES.
A Press wire from Wellington states the Four River Plain dredge return to be lOoz 9dwts for 18 hours' work.
We are informed says the Kumara Times that a couple of mats on the Greonstone Creek, having boon washed show fair results. Dame Rumour says that over 20oz has been won.
The Erickson's Reward G. D. Company (Grey district) propose to increase their capital by the creation of 2000 additional shares which will make the total capital £IO,OOO, which is less than the majority of the dredg'mg companies on the West Coast.
The prospecting on the Alymer Lead Company's claim evidently proved satisfactory, as the various contracts in connection with the company are to be pushed on with all possible speed. Mr G. C. Carter, Secretary of the Waimangaroa Company, has returned to Westport from Wellington for the purpose of sinking a second shaft on the river portion of the Company's property. It is anticipated a satisfactory result will be obtained. We wish the Company every success.
