Hokitika Live Stock Market.
Mark Sprot and Co. report their sale at Arahura yesterday;—The yarding of fat cattle was limited to 60 head of local fattening, all of good quality. In the absence of northern buyers competition was not good, and prices were a shade easier than the previous sale. Values for mutton and store cattle were on a par with late rates. Wo sold: — On account of Mr H. Karnbach, 16 prime steers and heifers from £lO 17s 6d and £7 respectively. On account of Mr H. Diedrichs, 44 bullocks and heifers from £9 10 1 and £6 10s respectively. Fat Sheep—On account of Mr H. Diedrichs, 50 crossbred ewes and wethers at 16s and 16s 6d. On account of Mr E. G. Nisson, 27 half-bred and merino ewes and wethers at 16s. On account of Messrs Graham and Williams, 50 wethers, (extra heavy) at 225. Store Cattle—On account of various clients, 10 four-year steers at £6 ; 25 two and three-year steers and heifers at current rates.
