He handed an opal to the King s jewellers some weeks ago. Lyons offered to present the opal, which is valued at £50,000, to the King for regalia in the name of the Commonwealth of Australia. He has commissioned Sir Robert W. G, Herbert to formally make the presentation if it is accepted.
