London, March 28. The wool sales closed firm. The closing rates of tho highest series by the Home and Continental buyers operating, freely compared with tho opening sales. Best merinos and fine crossbreds were 10 per cent higher ; medium faulty merinos 5 per cent higher ; medium coarse crossbreds were unchanged. Lambs' wool fetched from par to 5 per cent lower. Tho total number of bales sold was : for the Home market 101,000 ; Continent 6,400; American 4,000 ; while 57,000 were held over. The sales included Kaputone (ijid and Balruddery 6;!d. Wheat—The American visible supply is estimated at 76,350,000.
