Mrs Spencer Booth leaves for London on Thursday next, says the '-Free Lance" This lady has boon doing a good deal of broking in the Wellington mining market, and goes to London with several promising dredging ventures, Mr Booth, who is already in the Homo Country, will endeavour to place with British capitalists. The secretary of the Black water River Gold Dredging Company reports that the results of boring done by Mr William Faithful havo come to hand. The depth of the three bores put down is—No. 1, 25ft; No. 2, 28fc; No. 8, 23£t; and the prospects obtained therefrom average No. 1, llsr per yard ; No. 2, Sgrper yard ; and No. '.), l'Ugr per yard. These prospects are considered highly satisfactory, and as the consulting engineers havo had the designing of a dredgo in hand for some time, they report that designs are well forward, and tenders will be called for shortly. Contracts have been let for clearing a site for the construction of the pontoons, and the road is being made to the site. Timber is also being cut and stacked for firewood.
The Mokoia, Boiler Junction, and Rocklands dredges are steadily at work this week. The Rocklands is dredging into her ground. The Consolidated dredgo is now being dropped down the river to the Old Diggings ground.
