The Rugby Union. The New Zealand Rugby Union starts the new year with a credit balance of about £4O. The committee of the Union is negotiating for a visit from a New South Wales team during the coming winter, under conditions expressed by a majority of Unions last year, and it is proposed that another conference of referees should bo held in Wellington this year. During the past year there were 29 disqualifications, and 14 appeals. The Seventh Contingent. Wellington, This Day.
