A SENSATIONAL PASSAGE.
A Large Steamer twice on fire.

Received this day at 9 7 a.m. London, March 20. The Brit ish-Tndia steamer Jumma has arrived from Queensland ports.
After an alarming fire which was discovered in the bunkers on Ihc 9th the vessel put in to Algiers and removed three hundred tons of coal, •She sailed again. On the Monday following the lire reappeared in the main hold and raged lor ten hours.
It spread rapidly, the engine-room becoming almost untenable. The boats were provisioned ready for lowering.
The crew and passengers under the leadership of the chief and third olllcers and purser jettisoned many tons of cargo and with great dillieulty finally subdued the lire.
