Small Pox. Sydney, March 10,

A second ease of small pox in a hotel in George street has occurred. The patient is Clarke, a passenger by the Euryalus, in a mild form. Tlia Coninghara Case. The Coningham ease has closed. The co-respondent’s case was opened and the greater part of the day taken up with the handwriting expert’s evidence. O'ifaran, in the witness-box, denied the charges absolutely. The Conway Case. Captain Smith, of the Talune, has given evidence by commission in the Conway case.

Sydenham Accident Inquiry,

Sydney, March 19,

At the railway inquiry exports’ evidence attributed the Sydenham accident to deflection in the road and excessive speed of the engine, which was unsuited to the class of locomotive.

The inquiry is adjourned to May (sth. for the driver’s evidence.

The Federal Commission,

The Now Zealand Federal Commission had a lung interview with Mr Barton. They examined Mr Coghlan, the statistician, and Major-General French.
