Melbourne Race Meetings. Melbourne, March 16. The Y. R. C. have decided to increase the Melbourne Cup stakes next year to £SOOO and the second money £IOOO. The Grand National Hurdles has been increased to £650, and the Grand National Steepleelia.se to £ISOO. The Duke of Yorks Birthday Meeting will replace the Queen’s Birthday Meeting. The racehorse Merriwee goes to New Zealand to do stud duty.
