Sydney, March 9
Barton has issued invitations to tho Governments of India, Ceylon, Capo, and Natal to send representatives to the Melbourne celebrations. The principal items in the programme of the Yorks' visit to Sydney will be the procession to Government llouse when they land ; laying the foundations of the Stato house; additions to the Art Gallery; naval display ; parliamentary levee, and presentation of address.
Perth, March 9.
Forrest has the distinction of being the first Federal Minister elected. He was returned unopposed. Swan wa3 elected to the House of Bepresentatives by sixteen.
Nominations have been received for the Senate and twelve for the House. Sydney, March 10.
It is understood that Sir W. Lyne resigns tho State Premiership this week.
