The Daily Chronicle states that Botha and the majority of his officers approved of Kitchener's terms : a general amnesty for all who surrender ; also for prisoners, excepting the Capo Colony rebels ; Britain to help in reinstating those amnestied on farm?.

Tho Times correspondent at Betbune's headquarters (under date Wednesday) reports that Do Wet with 700 men traversed Fauresmith northwards early in the week a few hoT-rs in advance of Bethuno ; and Plumer's cordon of Theron's scouts masked tho enemy's movements. When Bethune was at Beil Biver tho enemy, with tho view of rallying further north, broke and scattered, removing all tbe blacks and whites likely to furnish information to the British. General Bethune on Wednesday surprised a Boor laager and captured many mules, wagons and stock, Do Wet, by means of a ruse, sent Commandant Froneman with 400 men to trek north.
They crossed the Modder Biver near Abraham's Kraal on Wednesday, while Stoyn, Do Wet and the remainder of tho force arc resting near Springfontein. 100 raiders havo occupied Marisburg, imprisoning C. B. Vaughan, Kesident, Magistrate and four police. . The British had previously transferred all tho food stuffs and clothing to Major Cradock.
