Auckland, March 6, The evidence taken by the Federation ommission to-day was on the whole adverse to federation so far as New /tealand is concerned. Two of the witnesses approved of the idea but advocated a waitin'? policy to see how federated Australia was going to settle its tariff, coloured labor, and other urgent questions. The representatives of the boat trade expressed the opinion that boot manufacturing in this colony would be badly crippled, if not killed, by the removal of the protective tariff through federation, Auckland, March 7.
The evidence taken by the Federation Commission to-day was generally against Federation. Mr TV. F. Buckland, representing the Waikato Fanners’ Club strongly favoured union.
