At noon the weather cleared, but the going was heavy. The results are :

AUSTRALIAN CUP. Dreamland (W. Minter) ... 1 Flintlock (Kirkpatrick) ... 2 San Fran (A. Richardson) ... 3
Brinish Admiral was scratched. Betting 3 to 1 Advance, 4 to 1 Finland 5 to 1 San Fran, 7 to 1 Dreamland. Advance occupied a handy place throughout the early stages of the journey. At chebackstretch San Fran was just in front of Advance ; then came Finland, FJintlock, Maltster, Dreamland. Dreamland ran into third place at the abattoirs, and coming into the straight San Fran was just in front of Advance with Dreamland and Flintlock next. At the distance Dreamland tackled Advance, who now headed San Fran, and at the half distance Advance was beaten and Dreamland was in charge of affairs. Staving off a challenge by Flintlock, Dreamland went on under punishment and won by three-quarters of a length, three lengths between the second and third. Then came The Bride, Maltster, Advance and Seaport. Time, 3 58]. March Steeplechase—Floater 1, Hayseed 2, Sunlight 3. Betting, 4 to 2 Hostile, 4to 1 Floater. Time, 5 21.
Bourke handicap—Safety 1, Ferryman 2, Australian 3 .Betting, 6 to 4 Safety, 7to 1 Boreas. Boreas played up and delayed the start. Won by a neck, Boreas was fourth. Time, 1 20].
Junior Handicap. Black Watch 1, Gunlock 2, Dodona 3. Betting, 5 to 1 Dodono, Won by half a length. Time, 1 m.
