Tho Captancies of the Seventh Contingent have been allotted to G. B. Johnston (Wavcrley) formerly Lieutenant Ist Contingent and J. Hamer (Christchurch), an old army man with South African records, Sergeant Lestrango formerly Ist Contingent has been promoted to Lieut. The general tone answered by members to the Premier's enquiries about a federal contingent is that tho colony should bo represented, but not by so large a force as proposed.
