Some time ago tho Imperial Government asked the Colonial Governments to send four addition il medical gcntl men to South Afiica.
Mr Saddon at once agreed to send one, and communicated with tho Australian Governments suggesting they should furnish others.
Burgeon Major Burns of Dunedin who did such excellent service with the New Zealanders of the First Contingent, and only recently returned to New Zealand has been selected as a representative and tho principal medical officer for New Zealand, and will shortly leave for Capetown which ho will make his base. Dr Dawson it is said will go with the 7th Contingent as medical adviser, London, March 1.
