Waimate, This Day. Jeremiah M'Charthy charged with the murder of Thomas Sullivan at Waihao in January, 1895. The Crown Prosecutor said fresh evidence would connect the accused with injuries from which Fitz-
gerald died, or accelerated liis death. This evidence—that of his two daughters
—was not called on previous enquiries. They would state that the accused beat deceased with a heavy stick and then assisted him across the paddock to the wire fence and threw him over and subsequently took deceased a considerable distance along the road in a cart. The case is proceeding,
