COMMERCIAL AND TOURIST GUIDE.

We have received from the New Zealand Express Company, Limited, a copy of their "Commercial and Tourist's Guide," a handsome little volume of about 230 pages. It is being issued for the use of commercial travellers.- tourists,

and the general trading public, and contains a surprisingly large amount of valuable information in a concise form relative to the-Company's extensive business in all the principal cities and townKiips in the colony. Besides giving in Pach instance distances by rail, coach, or steamer, arrivals and departures of mails, population, statutory half-holidays, details are given as to the manufactures carried on, and the drives and pleasure resorts available. Railway, postal, and telegraph rates and regulations are supplied, and there is also a digest of the U.S.S. and Huddart-Parker steamer services. In addition to a short history of the Company's rise and progress, photoengravings are given of their head and branch offices and plant throughout the colony, and a special feature, which must prove of great convenience to the commercial traveller, is the large number of diagrams drawn to scale showing the positions and measurements of the sample rooms attached to each branch. The book, which is being issued gratis by the Company, is of size suitable for carrying in the side pocket, reflects great credit on all concerned in its production.
