The defect in the lower tumbler of tho Greenstono Junction drodgo turns out to ■Jte not nearly as serious as was at first supposed. It is now found that the difficulty cvn be overcome without taking the tumbler to a foundry. Only a few of
tho buckets were too wide to pass through „ and as these were tried first, it was thought it-would bo necessary to sproad the flanges fully an inch before they would admit of a passage. However, by cutticg a small piece out where the pin heads touch tho difficulty is overcome. The work will be completed to-day, and the tumbler once again placed in position. There is no use in misleading the public. The report that tho dredge will be at work in 14 days is a bit premature.
