OUR KUMARA LETTER.

The workmen have completed the repairs to the Tcrcmakau traffic bridge. It Las been rcplauked from end to ond. The Course Committee of the Kumara Jockey Club are moving in the matter of proparing for the annual meeting to be held on Easter Monday and Tuesday, Bth and 9th of April,, by having certain i ""ti!jary repairs effected at once.

Weddings galore have been the order of the week, and yet there's room for more. Certainly it is somewhat of a record for Kumara to have three celebrated in as many days. Mr H. B. Hope set the example on Monday, Mr Samual Stuart of Goldsborough being a good second on Tuesday, while Mr John William Hibbs of the Kumara Railway Junction completed the trio on Wednesday. Mr Hope's has been already reported. The wedding of Mr S. Stuart of Goldsborough to Miss Mary Gibbons excited a great deal of interest as the contracting parties are both well known and very popular. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr Douglas, M. A. of Hokitika in fct Andrew's Presbyterian Church. A large number of visitors were present to witness the ceremony. The usual contributions of rice were fully made all along the route from the church, to the home of the bride's parents, where a sumptuous wedding breakfast was prepared by Mr and Mrs Thompson. The bride was the recepient of a large number of valuable and useful presents from friends and well-wishers. In the evening a dance was held at which the friends of Mr and Mrs Stuart attended in force to wish the newly wedded couple every happiness, a feeling that is entertained by all.

Mr Hibbs took for the partner of his joys and sorrows, Miss Charlotte Emma Butcher. Mr T. M. Lawler, Registrar of Marriages, tied tho knot, The party afterwards left for Kanieri on a visit to the bride's sisters. "We wish them every happiness in their new sphere,
