FAREWELL TO MR CROMBIE.

Dunedin, Feb. 20,

At a representative gathering of citizens and buoiness men, Mr W. Crombie, railway stationmaster, who has been promoted to traffic manager of the West Coast section, was presented with a purse of 180 sovereigns and a gold pendent stiitably inscribed. The Hon. F. Fergus, the Mayor, and others spoke in high terms of MrCrombie’s kindness, gentleness, and civility to all, his conduct deing the sann to the Governor as to the farmer’s wife, doing every thing in his power to make them comfortable in travelling.
