[Before His 1 Conor, Judge Ward.] lii the District Court this forenoon Messrs Guinness and Murdoch summed up the evidence in the Foley’s Creek case on behalf of the accussed, and Mr Barman for the Crown. The mid-day adjournment was then taken. On returning the Judge reviewed the whole of the evidence, and the jury retired at half-past two o’clock to consider, and in about half-an-hour returned a verdict of guilty with a strong recommendation to mercy for Pring on the ground of being dominated by the Lawsons. The two Lawsons were sentenced to two years hard labor. Pring 12 months’ probation.
