FIRE AT DUNEDIN.

| PEP. PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Tin's Day.

Just before midnight a fire was discovered in the top story of Ross’s buildings in the Octagon, tenanted by Mr's Collett Dobson, who was seriously ill. She had to he carried to the lower floor and the other inmates aroused.

The Brigade mastered the fire before it got a firm hold, otherwise there is a probability that serious loss of life would ensue as occurred in the same spot in 1879.

The captain of the Brigade describe the rooms as a collection of horse boxes, connected with a dark, narrow passage.
