LIEUTENANT HOBSEN DYING.
The famous Lieutenant Hobson, who commanded the collier Xorrimac which he sank in the entrance at Santiago harbour under the fire of the forts in an attempt to bottle up Cevera’s fleet, was reported, when the English mail left, to be dying from typhoid fever in the Presbyterian Hospital im New Tork. Admiral Cavera sent the following telegram to the gallant ofleer through a third party:— u I am greatly afflicted to learn of the valiant Hobson's state of health. lam praying God to restore him to health, and if he dies to receive him into His Paradise.”
