London, February 12. General De Lisle, with the Australians, beat the record in marching to Williston, Western Capo Colony, 72 miles in 48 hours, through a desolate, waterless country.
The Boers have gone to Yanwyksvaler in search of water and forage. Colonel F. Scherombrucker, a member of the Cape Assembly for Kingwilliamstown, is raising a corps of loyalists and German farmers, co-operating with General Brabant.
The natives of Leydsdorp district have risen against the Boers owing to their cruel exactions.
There are indications that Swaziland has long been prepared as a last Boer refuge. The British authorities at Bloemfontein are inviting tenders for clothing and boots fc distribution among the Boer refugees, Tho Netherlands Government has asked Krugcr to reside elsewhere than at the Hague. Pict De Wet is visiting Capetown with the view of inducing tho Afrikander Boud leaders to co-operate to secure peace.

The Boers have retired from Fouriesburg. General French captured a convoy of 50 waggons, 15 carts and 24 prisoners. The British had no loss,
Brisbane, February 11. The Government is offering further troops, but stipulated no number. If the Imperial authorities send a steamer, the Government would endeavour to fill it.

Another batch of invalided soldiers arrived by the Nineveh, including the following New Zealanders: —Captains Bartlett and Gregory, Sergeants Fox and Cromer.
