Death of the Queen.

[BT ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. —COPYRIGHT.]

(per press association.)

London, February 9.

The King, after the assembling of Parliament, will visit the Empress Frederick, and returns the Kaiser’s visit. The Duke of York will be created Prince of Wales after his visit to the colonies.

The Times eulogises the King’s sound judgement and delicate tact in reserving the title until it can be bestowed in recognition of a great public Imperial duty. Such an acknowledgement indicates the King’s desire to strengthen the links binding the colonies to the Motherland. The sarcophagus at Frogmore has been rosealed.

A recumbent marble figure of the late Queen will bo carved and will be preserved at Windsor Castle for 25 years and then placed on the lid.

The German newspapers sgarply criticise the decoration of Lord Roberts, and declare that the Kaiser’s act and long stay in England runs counter to the prevailing feeling of the German nation.
