Wellington, This Day. Ministers have decided to send more troops to relieve those who have already served the period for which they enlisted. The first draft, numbering 300, will he despatched in a mouth, and will he followed by others as soon as they can he got ready. Another medical officer will also be sent.

The following New Zealanders are returning by the steamer Chicago, which left Capetown on the 6th: —FarrierSergeant Spain, of the Fourth Contingent, Otago; Private Spencer, Third Contingent, Kaikoura; J. Warren, Fifth, Dunedin; M. Dignan, Reserve, Auckland ; J. M‘Kay, Fifth, Clinton ; C. Wyse, Fourth, Otago Central; C. W. Brown, Fourth, Tcmuka ; A. Woolward, Fifth, Dunedin; J. Matson, Fifth, Cambridge; J. Farrell, Reserve, Kihikihi; C. W. Watt, Fifth, Dunedin ; 2261 F. W. Jones, Fifth, Wanganui; A. J. Wallace, Fourth, Shannon,

Telegrams received by f lie Premier from Hobart show that the Karamea arrived at that port on Saturday witli the following New Zealanders on board in charge of Colonel Newali, of the Fourth Contingent:—Sergeant G. A. Ross, Shag Talley; Private W. M. Chime, Waihoa; •T. B. Gibb and R. C. Hopkins, Waipawa; C. A. Hartzill, Wellington ; R. E. Lean. Havelock ; W. G. Morrison, Tapanui ; J. G. H. Moore, Dunedin ; T. Popham, Middlemareli; W. Buddie, Whangarei. Fifth Contingent—Sergeant Gregg, Dunedin; J. G. Goode, Wellington; Bugler B. Dormer, Auckland; Private J. Regan, Auckland ; T. R. Horne, Methvcn ; A. E. Hayward, Normanby; and Private R. J. Stevens, Gisborne. The message also mentioned that there arc Sommcrvillc and Valentine who do not appear in the list of the Fouth and Fifth Contingents and the following of whom several appear : —Privates Brown, Cameron, Harris, Hunter, Jackson, M‘Dongall, APAnley. Fiddle, Rector and Smith, All the above are well.

Sergeant A. IT. Chaliis, Fourth Contingent, Invercargill; and Private R. Searle, Fifth Contingent, Kakanui, suffering from pneumonia; have been received into the Hobart Hospital, The following New Zealanders belonging to the South African Irregular Corps arc aboard : —Private Tait, Rowland and M'Donald, Brabant’s Horse; Private Keane, Robert’s Horse; and Private Gibson, of the British-South African Police.
