LIVE STOCK REPORT.
Messrs G. W. Moss and Co repor? Monday’s sale at Preston yards as follows ; The entry consisted of 40 cattle ex ship, 14 locals and 300 sheep. The entry of cattle was in excess of requirements and only 10 head placed under the hammer, the balance being withdrawn, and about 20 disposed of privately after the sale. Sheep maintained late ruling rates and were all cleared. Wo sold the following stock: —
Fat cattle —On account of Mr J. Doolan 3 handy weight bullocks £7 5s to £7 12s Gd, 1 cow £7 10s, 3 heifers £5 17s 6d. On account of Mr John McGregor, 17 prime bullocks and heifers from £ll 10s for heavy weight bullocks, £8 for heifers. Fat sheep—On account of Mr O’Malleyi 36 ewes at 14s 9d ; on account of Mr. John McGregor 150 heavy ewes and wethers from 19s 6J to 20s 6d. Fat lambs—39 on account of Mr O’Malley at 11s. Fat Pigs—-20 tor clients, from 55s for very heavy baconers to £2 for prime porkers. A considerable decline on former rates.
