The King’s Military Commands.

Very few people are aware of the fact that King Edward is colonel of no fewer than sixteen different regiments, and colono!-in-chiet of the three regiments of tho Household Cavalry, as well as of the 10th Hussars. Nor is it generally known that Queen Victoria was the honorary colonel of a Prussian regiment, and that the present King is head of the famous Blucher Hussars. These two latter ap ; pointments are the outcome of the fashion amongst foreign sovereigns, who nominate brother potentates to high honorary commands in their armies.
