ODDFELLOW'S DISTRICT MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Hokitika District of theM.U.T.O.O.F. was held at the Loyal "\Yaimea Lodge room Oddfellows ] fall, Stafford, yesterday. In the absence of Prov. G. M. Thomas, D. Prov G. M. O'Brien opened the proceedings at two o'clock. The delegates present being P.Q's — Peake and Ralfe, Hokitika Lodge ; P.G.'s Edwards and Perkins, Greymouth Lodge; P. G. Evenden, Albert Lodge, Kumara; and P. G. Higgs, Waimea Lodge, Stafford. The usual routine businsss, and that set down on the business sheet was transacted. The balance showed the district to be in a good financial position. D. Prov G. M. O'Brien was elected Prov G.M. for ensuing year, P.O. Evendon D. Trov G.M., and Prov C.S. Peake re-elected. The newly-elected officers were duly installed in their various offices, and suitably responded for the honors conferred on them. The meeting then terminated. At 8 p.m. the Prov G.M. opened the Purple Lecture, when three members were admitted to the Past Grand's degree, and several past officers, certificates were passed. A banquet was held in evening.
