Cunningham is moving to Olifent's Nek southwards, capturing 17 Boers. Ho engaged De Larey's Middlefontein.
General Knox attacked Haasbrock's laager, and captured a field cornet, four prisoners and 20 horses. Ndw Zealand Bough Bider Private 3. Murphy died of enteric fever at Kimberley.
Private W. G. Earl (N Z Mounteds) was killed at Bronkhorst Spruit. Lord Kitchener and a number of troopers is proceeding by train on Wednesday in the direction of Middloburg, proceeded by the armoured pitot engine, which was dorailed by dynamite near Balmoral. When the troopers' train arrived a num. ber of Boers opened fire, but were repulsed with loss.
There were no British casualties. General Cunningham, at Middelfontein lost two Jailed and eleven wounded.
Britain has purchased Monte Frere's building at Delagoa Bay for £50,000 for the use of Imperial officers. 13,135 Boer prisoners are now quartered at St Helena.
Boer commandos boast that since the women and children are provided for they have no cares, and will continue to fight with determination.
The Boers at Slyklip captured a train with cattle and provisions from Kimberley.
The British have sent an armoured train and 200 infantry in pursuit. The fireman of the train captured at Slyklip escaped, and raised the alarm, and prevented the rapture of the second train.
Some Dublin Fusiliers were captured by the Boers who were in the first (rain seized at Slyklip.
