KEEP-IT-DARK REPORT.
Mine manager’s report for month ending January 26,1901: —The usual stoping has been carried on the month, about an quantity of quartz coming from each level.
There is no change to report in the stopes. 836 tons have been put into the battery paddock, of which 736 tons have been crushed. No. 3 level has been driven 23 feet for three weeks ; it is now driven 46 feet on the block of stone.
Just at present the reef is rather broken in the face; it is very damp, and I think by the appearance it will be solid and the usual size in a few feet. No 2. rise at 62 feet up has been driven 13 feet towards connecting with stopes; the reef is three feet thick.
Cleaned up for the month as follows : Battery, 1630zs 18dwt ISgrs gold from 736 tons; czanide, 61oz 2dwt 6gr gold; total, 2240 z lOdwt 21gr.
