The Duke of -orfolk will afterwards notify the per~ of B encral mourning. afl 4 o’clock swears al|[e„iapJ to tl ,e King and condoles with the demise of his mother. It is understood the King will be crowned Edward VII. Received this day at 9 a.m. The Prince of Wales was much affected when the doctors intimated to him that his mother had gone. The scene at the death-bed was expressibly sad. The Kaiser who was deeply affected, tninistored comfort to the grief stricken uncle. The Times states that the new King it endowed with the most lovable and attractive qualities of his great mother. He has a kind heart, quick appreciation, and genuine worth. The nation is happy in the confidence that the King follows in mis mother’s footsteps according to the ‘spirit and letter of Moreover the King adds perfect tacf, wide knowledge of men, business virtues, method, prompt decision,punctuality, and] a groat capacity for work. i Received this day at 9 5 a.m, i London, January 2;3. j After the announcement of the death all the city bells tolledjrfollowing the deep! strong mournful note of the great muffled bell of St Pauls.
