BREAKING INTO A CHURCH.
(per press association.)
Wellington, January 15. Tho Baptist Church in Vivian street was yesterday broken into, evidently by mischevious boys. In the class rooms the money boxes and cupboard were opened and the contents scattered about. Damage was also done to the harmonium and pictures, and to the sacramental cups and books in the body of tho church. Today three boys—Charles and Edward Haugbcy, and Edward Burke—were arrested and charged at the Magistrate’s Court with having committed the offence and with the theft of other articles. The boys Ifaughey were discharged on tho understanding that they would be kept under control. Burke was remanded practically on probation.
