Wellington, This Day. The Department of Agriculture has received the following from the AgentGeneral under yesterday's date. The average prices of the choicest butter is 111/- and demand good. Cheese 53/-. Market good. Buyers of cheese are holding back expecting prices to lower. The hemp market is steady, good and fair, "Wellington £2l 10s. The stock in I London on 31st December was 1537 tons I as against 109 last year. - Fair current ) Manilla is £29 10s, and the stock 20,797 as against 9,998 last year. Cocksfoot market is very dull at 3-1/-Wheat and oats are firmer. The mail steamer Mariposa which left Auckland on the 26th December reached Frisco on 12th inst, gaining one day.
