At a recent civil session of the Supreme Court, Martin is said to havo made some remarks concerning a marriage which was thought to be rather extraordinary at the time, During the hearing of a slander case one witness tried to discredit another by saying that he was living with a woman whom was not married. The Judge rebuked tho wicness and went on to say that it was purely a matter of opinion, whether the marriage ceremony was necessary or not. For himself he thought none less of man and on this account would not discredit a witness testimony.
