GREY MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Monday, January 14th
(Before R. S. Hawkin’s, Esq, S. M.)
P. Kinen v. P. Eider. A claim for £l4 10s for wages allcdged to be due. The Magistrate gave judgment for plaintiff for lire amount with costs £4 9s. Mr Hannan appeared for the plaintiff. J. Spiers v. J Wingrright, using obscene language on Tuesday. Mr Joyce appeared for the informant, and Mr Guinness for the defence. Defendant in his evidence stated that on coming homo ho found one of his children crying on the verandah and asked her what was the matter. She said that one of the Spire’s had beaten her. ]fe went to Spire’s and demanded an explanation. Spiers shut the door in his face, and ho used strong language. The Magistrate ordered defendant to pay 80s to the public library, and come up for sentence when called upon.
