DEATH OF A FEDERAL MINISTER.

Sydney, January 10. A special train conveying Dickson’s remains was despatched to Brisbane this afternoon, the members of the family accompanying. The members of the Federal Ministry, Hon, Mr See, representing the State Ministry, several members of the Queensland Ministry and Parliament, Hon. Mr Carroll representing New Zealand, and a number of other prominent visitors followed the hearse to the station. The coffin was covered with beautiful wreaths, including many from the Commonwealth and the State Governments. Mr Barton, on behalf of the Federal Ministry, sent a message to Miss Dickson condoling with the family and expressive of the great loss to Australia. Also a message to the Queensland Premier sympathising with Queensland’s loss and asking to place a w'reath on the coffin and appoint a prominent Queenslander to represent the Commonwealth Parliament at the funeral. Ho is to be buried on Saturday. The flags at Government buildings were half masted. General regret is expressed. Brisbane, January 10. Profound regret is felt at Sir J. Dickson’s death, and the flags are everywhere half masted. Dickson will be accorded a state funeral.
